being a student

My mom has always said that my job for now is to be a student and to get the best grades that I can.  I always ignored it and never saw the relevance.  Yesterday at the insurance company, I saw that good grades help make money, well less negative money to be more precise.  The cost of drivers insurance with "good student discount" is hundreds less than with out it.  So getting good grades is effectively making hundreds of dollars.
So the plan is get good grades now and deal with the rest of life later.  So far, it's a pretty good plan, as far as plans go.  Deal with problems as they occur rather than thinking into the future for problems that may or may not happen, AND dealing with problems in the moment add the human element, it proves who someone really is, you don't have time in advance to think up an answer, it's up to you and your wit to get out the situation, and I like that.  Making people think on their feet proves who's a phony and who's not.  However, this plan does have a few disadvantages such as last minute cramming when you only deal with present problems instead of thinking of potential future problems. So yeah, moral of the story; there is no such thing as a perfect plan and most things have to be improved and can't be planned for.
